About nine months ago, a sweet husky named Troito was listed for adoption at the Kansas Humane Society.

At the time, the Wichita animal shelter staff didn’t know much about his history, but they knew the 5-year-old dog loved giving kisses. It was only a matter of days before the well-behaved pup was adopted into what was hoped to be his forever home.

He was renamed Wolfie, and he still loves to give kisses.

But unfortunately due to circumstances outside Wolfie’s control, he has returned to the Kansas Humane Society and is in need of a new home.

In a Facebook post, shelter staff said he was returned after a drunken driver hit his owner’s fence, making it too easy for Wolfie to find ways to escape. His ideal next home will have a secure fenced-in yard with someone to take him for walks.

“Wolfie enjoys pets, roughhousing, cuddling, being brushed, and playing chase! His favorite thing is playing in the yard,” staff said. “He walks well on a leash, although sometimes pulls, and will go to the door, bark, and pace when he needs to go outside.”

He’s described as “an affectionate, playful, independent, social, active, and friendly lapdog” who did great living with children and two other dogs. He also lived well with three cats after first spending a couple of days chasing them around.

To place a hold on Wolfie, give KHS a call at 316-524-9196.
