The oldest dog at the Kansas Humane Society has been waiting for more than a month for someone to take him home.

During that time, not many potential adopters have stopped by to see him.

Duke, the 12-year-old mixed breed weighing in at 83 pounds, is patiently waiting for what will hopefully be his retirement home.

“He’s a senior sweetheart who still has plenty of energy for playtime and walks, but also enjoys naps and binge-watching TV on the couch!” the Wichita animal shelter said May 20 on Facebook. “Old Duke deserves a cozy home and a family who loves him.”

Staff say he doesn’t walk very fast, but he can get where he needs to go. He has also shown “some major signs of house training” since he arrived at the shelter April 14.

He’s available for adopters to meet him as of May 21, and his adoption fee is “pick your price.”

To place a hold on Duke, give the Kansas Humane Society a call at 316-524-9196.
