4 Wichita neighborhoods among named among the nicest places to live in Kansas

Four Wichita neighborhoods are among the best places in Kansas to live, according to Niche rankings released late last month from review site Niche.

Courtland placed No. 10, Village No. 15, Crown Heights No. 16 and College Hill No. 17, with the rest of the top 20 taken up exclusively by the Kansas City and Overland Park area.

For the analysis, Niche created an overall grade for each spot based on things like cost of living and proportion of college graduates. Assessments of housing and public schools are the greatest contributors to the grade. The underlying grades are based on everything from Census data to what Niche users say.

Courtland, Village and College Hill received high grades in housing (A) and jobs (also A), and both were dinged by cost of living (B) and public schools (B-minus). Crown Heights did the same, save for jobs (A-minus).

The Niche ranking is not the only recent mention for the Wichita area. Two suburbs, Mulvane and Bel Aire, were also named among the safest in the state by security research company Safewise.
