Second arrest made in Sunday homicide, booking reports say

A second person has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder after the death of an 18-year-old man Sunday night.

Lascottric Lakeland Yarbrough, 18, was arrested in the 1000 block of North Harding. Booking reports say he’s also accused of aggravated robbery and criminal possession of a firearm. He was booked into jail at 8:17 p.m.

A 17-year-old is also in custody.

Three or four people armed with guns knocked on the front door of a house in the 900 block of South Pineridge at around 9 p.m. on Sunday and were let in, Wichita police Lt. Todd Ojile said on Monday. One of the five people in the home got in a fight with one of the armed people and was shot multiple times.

He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. He was 18 years old. Police have not identified him.

The younger teenager was arrested early Monday morning near Lincoln and Rock. He was booked into juvenile detention.

Police are working to identify the other people involved and ask anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
