One person has been booked into the Sedgwick County Jail after a shooting Monday night in south Wichita, according to police.

Jalin M. Terrell, 18, of Wichita was arrested and booked on suspicion of four felonies – including criminal discharge of a firearm – Tuesday afternoon. Terrell is suspected of being involved in a shooting that injured multiple people Monday night at a mobile home in the 2000 block of West MacArthur, near Meridian.

According to Officer Charley Davidson of the Wichita Police Department, a 23-year-old man and three 18-year-old men went to the mobile home at about 11 p.m. Monday to buy marijuana.

As one of the teenagers – thought to be Terrell – waited in a car outside, a shootout involving the three other men and a 23-year-old resident of the home took place.

The resident was treated at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis for a gunshot wound to his thigh and later released, Davidson said. The three other men involved in the shootout remained hospitalized in critical condition as of Wednesday morning, Davidson said.

One of the men had been shot in the face. The resident told police that the three men entered his home and began shooting, causing him to grab a handgun and return fire.

“This is a very complex case,” Davidson said. “We’re going to make sure we get all the information we can possibly get and, once the investigation is complete, we will present to the district attorney’s office for review of charging considerations for all parties involved.”

Along with the resident who received a gunshot wound, Davidson said three other adults were also in the home at the time of the shootout, but were uninjured. Two of the three men that entered the home, Davidson said, are documented gang members.
