Man found in Arkansas River Monday possibly a suicide, police say
The man whose body was found in the Arkansas River on Monday afternoon is being investigated as a suicide, authorities said Thursday.
Kayakers reported seeing the body in the water at about 5:30 p.m. under the McLean and Seneca bridge, Officer Charley Davidson said in a statement. First responders were able to remove the man from the water.
They observed a gunshot wound to the man’s head. The body was released to the Sedgwick County Forensic Science Center for further investigation.
The victim is a 48-year-old man who lived in the area.
