Evidence in a potential criminal case involving Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was presented Friday to the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office, officials said.

Randle, 23, was involved in an incident on Feb. 3 at the Hotel at WaterWalk in downtown Wichita. His ex-girlfriend, Dalia Jacobs, accused Randle of pointing a gun at her friend and the infant son she has with Randle.

She also said Randle shattered the passenger window of the car, sending glass flying across her friend and her young son. Jacobs has petitioned for a Protection From Abuse order against Randle. The hearing is set for March 12.

Randle, a Wichita native who graduated from Southeast High and played football at Oklahoma State, has denied any wrongdoing.

Randle was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession after a small amount of marijuana was found in the hotel room registered to his name. He was given a notice to appear in court, but that charge was later dismissed as police continued to investigate the incident.

Wichita Police Lt. Joe Schroeder said it’s not unusual for the district attorney’s office to request additional information in a case after evidence has been presented. The district attorney’s office will determine what, if any, charges are filed in the case.
