Wichita police are still investigating an incident earlier this week in which Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle was arrested on suspicion of marijuana possession, authorities said.

Randle was given a notice to appear in Wichita Municipal Court after a small amount of marijuana – 1 gram, according to a police document – was found in his room at the Hotel at WaterWalk at 711 S. Main early Tuesday morning, police have said.

While people given such notices typically have their hearings about three weeks after they’re cited, Lt. James Espinoza said Thursday that no court date has been set yet for Randle.

Police went to room 524 of the hotel after a 22-year-old woman called 911 shortly before 3 a.m. Tuesday to report she had been in a fight with a 23-year-old man in the room and that a weapon was involved, police have said.

Officers found no weapon when they arrived, but they learned that another man who had been there took a handgun with him, police have said.

The woman who called 911 was at the hotel so Randle could see the child they have together, police have said. Randle is a native of Wichita and graduated from Southeast High School before playing at Oklahoma State University.

In October, Randle was arrested on suspicion of shoplifting a two-pack of Polo underwear worth $39.50 and a tester bottle of Gucci Guilty Black cologne valued at $84 at a Dillard’s Department Store in Frisco, Texas.
