Starlite Drive-In will open again after apparent hiring spree
The show will go on at Wichita's popular Starlite Drive-In this weekend.
The movie theater had announced earlier in the afternoon Wednesday it would be temporarily closed, the result of an unspecified "staffing issue."
The outcry was swift on Facebook, as fans of the theater quickly took to Facebook to express their concerns .
Wednesday was a stressful day for theater owner Chuck Bucinski, but he told the Eagle on Wednesday evening the theater will be open this weekend after all.
"We may be a little slow, but bear with us — we'll have a couple new employees, but we will be up and running," he said.
This season brought with it the return of the drive-in's popular per-carload pricing option, and the theater has been giving away carload passes via Facebook contests frequently.
