College basketball fans in one state are so confident in their teams’ chances of making the NCAA championship that they’re already planning trips to the game.

Fans in Kansas top the so-called “Confidence Index” from Travelocity with the largest increase in travel-related searches for trips to the Final Four.

The travel company is tracking search increases by state for flights, hotels and travel packages to San Antonio over the weekend of March 31 to April 2. Such searches increased 110 percent in Kansas in the past week.

The past week was a good one for the three Division I college basketball programs in the Sunflower State.

Kansas (22-6, 11-4 Big 12) crushed Oklahoma on Monday after beating No. 20 West Virginia on Saturday and Iowa State four days earlier. The No. 8 Jayhawks are on a three-game win streak and lead the Big 12 going into their Saturday match-up against No. 6 Texas Tech.

Kansas State (19-8, 8-6 Big 12) beat Iowa State on Saturday after winning at Oklahoma State three days earlier to rebound from a loss to Texas Tech. The Wildcats play Texas on Wednesday in a game of two tournament bubble teams.

Wichita State (21-5, 11-3 American) is on a four-game win streak going into their Wednesday game versus Tulane. The No. 13 Shockers are coming off a big win on Sunday over No. 5 Cincinnati, the top team in the conference, and a Thursday win over Temple.

ESPN projects Kansas as a No. 1 seed, K-State as a No. 11 seed and Wichita State as a No. 4 seed. CBS projections also list KU as a No. 1 seed and Wichita State as a No. 4 seed but has K-State as a No. 10 seed.

The most confident fans ranking will be updated each week by Travelocity. The other top six states with the most confident fans are South Carolina, Ohio, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Arizona.
