Cat who lost her owner is ‘unsure and frightened’ at Ohio shelter. She needs a home
A cat at a shelter in Ohio keeps being overlooked due to her frightened nature, likely caused by being in an unfamiliar place after losing her beloved owner.
Po is a 4-year-old cat whose heart has been broken due to the loss of her owner — someone who made Po’s “world feel safe.”
“She was once a snuggle bug, always nestled close to her owner’s chest, soaking up every gentle pet and soft word,” the Jefferson County Humane Society and Jefferson County Animal Shelter in Wintersville said in a Nov. 4 Facebook post. “But now, she sits in her kennel, unsure and frightened, surrounded by unfamiliar sights and sounds.”
Po is not forward like some of the other cats surrounding her, the shelter says, so it’s difficult for her to be noticed by potential adopters.
“Each day, Po watches other cats step forward eagerly, trusting new people and walking out with them, finding new families,” the shelter continued. “But Po stays curled up in the back of her kennel, her spirit quiet and her heart aching. She’s good with other cats, but without her beloved person, the world feels a little darker and a lot lonelier.”
The shelter is hoping for an adopter who has the patience to help Po come out of her shell and will love her unconditionally as she heals.
