Shelter cat in Texas comes with caveat — she steals bread in the middle of the night

One cat in Texas is on a mission to steal all the treats and bread baskets from right under your nose.

And she’s in need of a home.

Liliana is a sweet, loving adult cat who is about as easy going as they come — until it comes to food. While she loves cuddles and attention, she has a weak spot for temptation treats and squeeze tube snacks, her pet profile says. But could all this be a ruse to steal the one thing that makes a sandwich complete?

“She is still learning table manners because she will try to swipe table food off a plate of food and she is a bread thief!!” the South Plains SPCA in Lubbock said in an Oct. 30 Facebook post.

“She has been known to steal bread (in) the middle of the night and eat it so her adopter needs to keep bread out of her reach.”

Well, that’s a new one.

Other than being food motivated, Liliana adores being held and being brushed by her human. She’s not thrilled about dogs, however.

Her age is unknown but she is house trained and up to date on all her vaccines, her pet profile says.

For more information on Liliana or other adoptable pets that don’t prioritize bread over everything else, visit the shelter’s website.
