Wichita police have identified the man killed over the weekend outside of a laundromat in southwest Wichita.

Officers found 42-year-old Jason Todd of Wichita suffering from several gunshot wounds to his upper body after responding to reports of a shooting in the 900 block of South Seneca on Saturday evening, a Wichita Police Department press release said.

Officers began life-saving measures, the department said, and Todd was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police said the shooting happened after 26-year-old Ronntreal Golston, who has since been charged with murder, confronted Todd in the business’s parking lot.

“Investigators believe this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence,” police said.

At 8:20 a.m. Sunday morning, Wichita Police SWAT arrested Golston. He’s since been charged with first-degree murder, criminal discharge of firearm and criminal possession of a weapon. He’s due in court again on May 21.
