Man wounded at south Wichita motel shows up at QuikTrip, police say
Police are looking for a suspect after a 21-year-old Wichita man showed up Tuesday at a QuikTrip on South Broadway with lacerations, police spokesperson Kristopher Gupilan said.
The incident happened at Afton Motel, 855 S. Broadway, Gupilan said.
“The victim and the suspect are known to each other, and investigators, along with police officers, are actively pursuing leads to apprehend the suspect,” Gupilan said. “The circumstances leading up to the incident are currently under investigation.”
Police were called at 7:08 a.m. Tuesday after the man showed up wounded to the QuikTrip at 750 S. Broadway. He had lacerations on his upper body, police said. EMS took him to the hospital with critical but non-life-threatening injuries.

This isn’t the first crime at the motel. A man was fatally shot there last month; three people were also shot there in June 2020.
