Park City police have identified a man they say was fatally shot after breaking into a home on Saturday.

That man was identified as David Pomeroy, 20, of Newton, police said.

Pomeroy had entered a home in the 1700 block of East 69th Court North without permission and threatened one of the residents before he was shot by someone in the home, a news release from the Park City Police Department said.

Police responded to a shooting call around 2:25 a.m. Saturday and found the man in critical condition. He was taken by EMS to a hospital, where he later died, police said.

The shooting remains under investigation. The Park City Police Department will consult with the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office to see if charges will be filed in the case.
