Wichita husband and wife die in apparent murder-suicide shooting

Wichita police homicide investigators have determined a Saturday night shooting was an apparent murder-suicide during a case of domestic violence.

Police were called at around 11 p.m. Saturday to a shooting at a home in the 600 block of West 25th Street South, Officer Paul Cruz said Sunday in a news release. They found a woman with a gunshot wound who was already dead and a man who later died at a hospital of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

“There was a reported argument between the victim and her husband and during the incident, the husband pulled a handgun and shot the victim and then himself,” Cruz said.

The wife was 42 years old and the husband was 44.

The investigation is ongoing.
