Pizza Hut driver robbed after he refused to sell undelivered food, police say
Wichita police arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly robbing a Pizza Hut driver who refused to sell him an undelivered order.
Officers arrested Jeramiah Milligan of Wichita on suspicion of aggravated robbery Monday morning at the south-side apartment complex where the hold up occurred, according to a department news release. Police say the Pizza Hut driver was at the complex, in the 4100 block of South Seneca, to deliver a food order around 9:50 p.m. Sunday but no one answered the door at the listed address.
As he was leaving, Milligan approached and asked to buy the food. When the driver said no, police say Milligan pulled a handgun and demanded both the food and money.
The driver put the food on the ground and drove back to the Pizza Hut restaurant at 47th and Broadway to call police.
Officers investigating the robbery spotted Milligan at the complex and arrested him early Monday. They found the pizza and the handgun on site, according to the news release.
Milligan remained in the Sedgwick County Jail on Monday in lieu of $75,000 bond, according to online booking records. Police will present the case to prosecutors, who will decide whether to charge him.
