Papa John’s delivery driver beaten and robbed of pizza
A 34-year-old Papa John’s delivery driver was robbed and beaten outside of an east Wichita duplex Tuesday night.
Wichita Police Department spokesperson Charley Davidson said officers were called at around 6:15 p.m. to the 500 block of South Hunter. The delivery driver, Davidson said, reported that an approximately 18-year-old man and two 15-year-old boys approached him while he was delivering the pizza, assaulted him, took the pizza and ran off, Davidson said.
The driver suffered minor injuries. The robbers stole two large pizzas and 50 wings, valued at about $70, according to a police report.
Davidson said investigators are trying to determine if the driver was set up or if the robbers acted impulsively. Davidson asked anyone with information about the incident to call robbery detectives at 316-268-4407.
