Robber with duct tape covering his face shot ceiling, took money, Wichita police say
One of two men in an armed robbery at a north Wichita convenience store early Friday morning had covered his face with duct tape, police said.
Police were called at around midnight to the Kwik Shop at the corner of 29th and Arkansas, Officer Charley Davidson said. A 26-year-old employee told police that two men had robbed the gas station.
One of the men had duct tape covering his face and shot the ceiling with a shotgun, Davidson said. The robbers demanded money, then ran from the store after they stole cash and cigarettes.
No injuries were reported, police said.
The robber with the duct tape on his face was described as a 5-foot-10 black man of a slender build, police said. He was wearing dark clothing and was armed with a gray and black shotgun. A second robber was described as a white man who wore a gray hoodie with the hood tightly cinched around his face. He also wore blue pants and a black backpack, and was armed with a silver handgun.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
