Man with socks on his hands tries, fails to rob KFC
A man wearing socks on his hands who tried to rob a south Wichita chicken restaurant Wednesday night ran after a teenage employee wouldn’t hand over money, police said.
The man walked into a Kentucky Fried Chicken near Harry and Woodlawn at around 8 p.m. demanding money from the cash register, Officer Charley Davidson said. A 17-year-old girl did not comply with the robber, Davidson said, and the man ran.
There were no losses to the business or injuries. The man did not show or indicate any weapons, police said.
Police described a suspect as a 6-foot, 220-pound black man in his 30s wearing a dark green zip-up hoodie, dark pants and white socks on his hands. Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
