KHP identifies Wichita man who died in semi crash on I-70 near Junction City
A Wichita man died Thursday after a semi crash on I-70 in Geary County.
The Kansas Highway Patrol said Christopher Robert Poare was driving a 2026 International semi westbound on the highway about two miles east of Milford Lake Road, west of Junction City, when the truck left the highway and went into a ditch.
The semi “reentered the roadway, rolled, and came to rest on its top” on the westbound shoulder facing the wrong direction, the KHP said in a crash log.
The crash happened around 6:15 p.m.
Poare, 41, was alone in the truck, according to the KHP report. No other vehicles were involved. The KHP didn’t say what caused the semi to veer off the road.
