Calling all dog experts: We need your votes.

Two weeks ago, The Wichita Eagle asked readers to submit their furry friends for our cutest dog competition. Monday, round one of voting was open with 34 entries.

Now, the second round of voting has begun with 12 dogs making it to the final.

So if you think you’re the expert on cute dogs — or just enjoy looking at the photos — now’s your chance to weigh in. You can check out our 12 finalists in the polling feature below.

The first round of voting brought in a total of 3,398 votes. On top with more than 1,500 votes is Abi, a 15-year-old Bichon Frise who can play volleyball. Coming in second place with more than 1,100 votes is 3-year-old Jo Jo, a Shetland Sheepdog who defied the odds by surviving after being hit by a car as a puppy.

Will you vote for Abi or Jo Jo, or one of our other 10 entries? Go ahead and cast your vote (or votes, there’s no limit, just refresh the page).

The final round of voting will end at 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26 before the winner is announced Monday, Nov. 3. That winner will move on to a national competition.

The winner will get a feature story on The Eagle’s website, Kansas.com, and will move on to McClatchy’s national cutest pet competition. Remember, this poll isn’t scientific, it’s just for fun!

Get your votes in, and we’ll see you Nov. 3, when we’ll finally crown the cutest dog in Wichita.
