It’s an exciting day for cat owners in Wichita: The Eagle has opened the final round of voting to find the cutest cat in Wichita, and we’re asking you to participate.

We had readers nominate their cats two weeks ago, and we received seven entries from cat owners in the area. After tallying your votes, we have moved three of your furry friends to our final round of voting.

Will the cutest cat in Wichita be 6-month-old Asa, who likes to play fetch? Or Bert, who has taken a kitten under his wings? What about the third finalist, Buffy, who has a special love of belly rubs?

The first round of voting brought in a total of 76 votes. Asa was at the top of the leaderboard with 19, and Bert and Buffy were tied with 12 votes each. With the votes extremely close, it’s up to you, Eagle readers, on who will take home the crown. Our polling resets for this final round.

You have until 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26 to cast your vote in the first round of the competition. The winner will be announced Monday, Nov. 3.

You can cast as many votes as you want, just remember to refresh the page.

Whoever you choose as the winner will get a feature story on The Eagle’s website, Kansas.com, and will move on to McClatchy’s national cutest pet competition. Remember, this poll isn’t scientific, it’s just for fun!

Get your votes in, and we look forward to finally crowning the cutest cat in Wichita Nov. 3!
