Wichita police have identified the motorcyclist who died in a collision with an SUV on Monday afternoon in east Wichita.

Hunter Lane, 28, of Andover, died in the wreck that happened around 4:30 p.m. in the intersection of Central and Greenwich, police spokesperson Trevor Macy said.

The driver of the SUV, a 58-year-old woman, was treated at scene of the crash for minor injuries, according to Macy.

Lane was eastbound on Central approaching Greenwich when he struck the SUV, which was making a left turn onto southbound Greenwich from westbound Central. Investigators think speed was a factor, Macy said.

The investigation is ongoing. This marks the ninth traffic fatality for 2022, Macy said.
