Spa settles into its new space with more room and enhanced treatments
As Kelli Foster has been putting the final touches on her new east-side Bohemia Healing Spa, she took a brief moment to chat about the experience and mention one of the truisms of life:
“Moving’s not easy, is it?”
Perhaps not, but Foster said the new space just south of the southwest corner of Central and Woodlawn is going to be worth it.
“It’s actually going to be absolutely beautiful.”
The 3,300-square-foot space opens Tuesday.
It will feature two soak rooms with rain showers and soaking tubs to offer the same soaking rituals as Foster’s original Bohemia in Delano.
It’s a service enhancement that can be added to massages and other treatments.
“It gets you really nice and warmed up and relaxed,” Foster said.
She said that allows therapists to go deeper into a client’s tissue.
“It’s just a really great addition to any sort of healing treatment we do.”
There’s also an infrared sauna and a private steam sauna.
Foster said her business is focused on providing healing spa services.
“That’s really what we’re best at.”
In addition to having more space than the spa had in the Wilson Estates Medical Park on North Webb Road, Foster said this building will allow her to eventually own instead of continuing to lease.
As she said in February when she announced the move, “I am trying to ensure the long-term stability of the future of the business.”
With a landlord, Foster said, “When you don’t know what the future of someone else’s plans are . . . you cannot plan for the future for your own business.”
In Delano, Foster has 2,200 square feet.
“Delano could definitely use an expansion,” she said.
With the news that Vortex Souvenir next door is closing, Foster said she had staff contact her wondering if she might want to expand there.
“Don’t think I haven’t thought about it.”
The timing isn’t great, though, with her east-side move.
As she said with another truism:
“Can I just get this done first?”
