Another random opportunity has presented itself to Bohemia Healing Spa owner Kelli Foster, and, as she did in 2021, she’s seizing this one, too.

Back then, Foster had the opportunity to purchase Serenity Med Spa on the east side of Wichita to open a second Bohemia.

The first has been in Delano almost 15 years.

The east-side Bohemia has done well in the Wilson Estates Medical Park on North Webb Road, but now Foster has the chance to move the business to a building where she eventually will be able to own instead of renting.

“I am trying to ensure the long-term stability of the future of the business,” she said. With a landlord, Foster said, “When you don’t know what the future of someone else’s plans are . . . you cannot plan for the future for your own business.”

Early this summer, the east-side Bohemia will move just south of the southwest corner of Central and Woodlawn.

The space at 402 N. Hillcrest actually is two spaces, which Foster will combine.

“I just really think the business will thrive in that area.”

The spa currently is in 2,700 square feet and will expand to 3,300 square feet.

“We are wanting to refocus our energy . . . on the core of what we do best,” Foster said.

She said that’s offering luxurious spa services with a healing focus.

“We’re refining our offerings by phasing out certain services and introducing new ones.”

There will be no more med services.

Instead, Foster is adding a head spa and possibly a couple of soak tubs.

“We’re also hoping that this new space provides some thoughtful growth over time.”

She said she’s becoming increasingly passionate about training and mentorship in massage and would like to one day offer a small, holistic massage school.

“I do believe our profession becomes stronger when we intentionally invest in one another.”

The east Bohemia will remain open until the new building is ready. Look for more information closer to the time of the move this summer.

Although she rents in Delano, too — and would love to buy her space — Foster said that “the businesses in Delano have a different type of security” because it’s such a special area, and Bohemia has been there for so long.

“Delano is not going anywhere.”
