Lyndons is now back open at Bradley Fair following a Dec. 18 electrical fire, though the store isn’t in its regular space for now. Instead, it’s at the former Apricot Lane space on the north end of the center at 21st and Rock Road.

“We have a little pop-up here going on while our store gets renovated,” said owner Julie Lair.

Lair said she’s never experienced a fire previously.

“It was pretty dramatic.”

The women’s clothing and accessories Lyndons sells could not be salvaged due to the smoke.

“The smoke damage was just incredible,” Lair said. “I had no idea how bad it is.”

She said she still has some of her paperwork in her garage that had been in the store, and the smoke smell continues to hang around.

“It’s just the worst smell ever.”

Lair said she hopes the renovation takes less than six months.

The new space is about 400 square feet smaller than the almost 2,900-square-foot Lyndons store, but Lair said customers won’t notice a decreased inventory.

“The good thing is this happened at a good time,” she said of the change of seasons.

She’d only had a bit of new spring inventory when the fire happened.

Now, she’s stocked for spring and summer.

“We were actually lucky.”
