As one store prepares to open at Bradley Fair, another closes

Women’s boutique Apricot Lane on the north end of Bradley Fair has closed and now has paper in its windows along with this sign about something new. However, there’s not an announcement of a new tenant just yet.

As J.Crew Factory prepares to come to Bradley Fair next year, a longtime tenant has left.

It should have been clear to shoppers that something was amiss at Apricot Lane.

How is it possible to keep a store going with so little merchandise, a couple of shoppers recently wondered.

As it turns out, it’s either not possible, or the store already was scaling back its merchandise, because it’s now closed.

“Apricot Lane has been a staple in the Bradley Fair community for over a decade and we appreciate their partnership over the years,” said a statement from Bradley Fair management. “While they have made the decision to close their doors, we wish them the very best.”

The women’s fashion boutique opened in early 2013 but then closed in early 2020 with a change in owners, who reopened the store a few weeks later.

Those owners couldn’t be reached for comment, but this time, the closure is permanent.
