Tracy Cassidy is returning to the morning airwaves, but this time she’ll be on her own on an AM station.

Cassidy, of course, was best known as being one half of the “Brett and Tracy Morning Show” on B98-FM. She was on the station almost 30 years.

When KQAM, 1480-AM, approached her about doing a weekday morning show, Cassidy said, “I don’t think so.”

It wasn’t setting her alarm for 3:30 a.m. again that scared her. In fact, that doesn’t bother her at all, she said.

The problem, she said, was “I couldn’t imagine doing a talk show.”

Cassidy said it takes a lot of preparation, especially when doing it solo.

“You know, that always made it easier, that’s for sure, when you’re bouncing off someone.”

Brett Harris is not returning with Cassidy.

The two had briefly reunited with “Brett & Tracy Mornings” on KKGQ, 92.3-FM.

Harris is now in real estate and has CBD stores.

Cassidy said she’ll have guests almost daily, and the show is only two hours — from 6 to 8 a.m. Monday through Friday.

“That makes it more manageable also.”

She’s also keeping her three-days-a-week job as a phone operator at Ascension Via Christi St. Francis — a job that gives her full benefits.

Cassidy has appeared on air a few times lately and officially starts her new job on Monday.

She said she’s fine with AM, noting that the station has a good following.

“I really think it’s going to be fun,” Cassidy said. “It’s just like the old days.”
