Big plans for Wichita suburb

Andover has been known as a bedroom community of Wichita for years, but that’s changing, especially thanks to the city’s new Heritage development.

The new 110-acre Heritage development in Andover, which is just east of Andover Road and north of Kellogg, already has two neighborhoods under construction on its north end.

This week, developers are breaking ground on the south end for Heritage Square, which is Andover’s first 5-story building. It will have businesses, public parking and apartments.

Work also will start on Heritage Plaza, which is meant to be a kind of downtown gathering place — and another first for Andover.

Also, as these illustrations show (scroll to see them), there eventually will be an 8-acre business park and space for either senior living or a health-related facility.
