Mexican restaurant appears to have closed. Its building will soon be auctioned.
A Mexican restaurant that’s operated on West Street for the past decade appears to have closed, and its 1,731-square-foot building will be auctioned next month.
In July 2016, Angelo Limon moved his El Ricardo’s Mexican Food restaurant from a drive-through-only space at Pawnee and Seneca to the former Church’s building at 503 N. West St. But recently, McCurdy Real Estate & Auctions posted a sign in front of the building saying that it would be auctioned off online. Bidding is set to close at 3 p.m. on Aug. 5.
Limon did not immediately return calls and messages about the status of the restaurant, but it appeared to be closed over the weekend, and the phone number for the restaurant is disconnected. A spokesperson for McCurdy said that the tenant was vacating the building. The auction should appear on McCurdy’s website soon, she said.
El Ricardo’s served burritos, enchiladas, tacos and tortas and was open 24 hours. It sold $1 tacos every Tuesday.
