Restaurant that’s a big deal on TikTok, Instagram announces Derby opening date
The Wichita area’s second Chicken Salad Chick restaurant now has an opening date.
The restaurant chain, which has a devoted TikTok and Instagram following, will open its new Derby restaurant on June 30. It’s at 2600 N. Rock Road in Derby, where an AT&T store previously operated.
Those who want to win free food from the restaurant should start planning now: It will be giving away a voucher for a free large container of chicken salad every week for a year to the first person in line at 10 a.m. on opening day. The next 99 people in line will get a voucher for one free large container of chicken salad a month for a year.
The restaurant will continue its opening-week celebrations with different giveaways for the first 50 people through the doors each day through July 4. On Wednesday, July 1, the first 50 will get a free 40-ounce tumbler with a lid and a straw. On Thursday, July 2, they’ll get a free burlap tote bag. Friday’s giveaway is a free small cooler, and on Saturday, July 4, it’s card good for a free meal.
Chicken Salad Chick, a chain based in Atlanta, first entered the market in December with a restaurant at 10240 W. 29th St. North in Wichita. The menu includes chicken salad in flavors like traditional, savory, fruity and nutty and spicy.
The Derby restaurant, which will have a drive-through, will be operated by Troy Morrison of Meauxmentum Strategies and Investments LLC, who is the brand’s largest franchise owner. In addition to 26 Chicken Salad Chick restaurants, including the one in Wichita, he also operates more than 100 Taco Bell and Wingstop restaurants nationwide.
