What happened to the 360 Deli & Grill at Kellogg and Greenwich?
It’s been difficult to keep track lately of what’s going on with Wichita’s 360 Deli & Grill.
Back in late December, one of the owners said that the restaurant’s second location, at 701 W. 21st St., was about to start its soft opening period.
But that didn’t happen, and the restaurant is still not open.
Then, customers started noticing that the original location of the restaurant, at 11309 E. Kellogg, was closed and that the space had been mostly emptied out.
I recently spoke with Faisal Assaedi — who along with partners Naseem Allahabi and Muqnea Elaya opened the 360 Deli & Grill at Kellogg and Greenwich in May 2024.
He said that the new location is essentially ready to go and should be open soon. Each time the owners tried to open the doors recently, they faced a new obstacle, he said.
“But we’ve got everything done now,” he said.
Assaedi did not share an exact opening date for the second restaurant.
He said that the restaurant at Kellogg and Greenwich has been closed since the end of December but that the shutdown is only temporary. The owners decided to remodel the space to improve its flow and will make alterations on the coolers, the prep room and the restrooms.
“We are trying to make a better layout that’s easier for customers and for workers,” he said.
The owners are also planning to add a walk-in freezer, he said. The restaurant needs to be closed while the changes and additions are happening.
Assaedi said that he’s still waiting to hear from his contractor exactly how long the changes will take, but he estimated that the Kellogg and Greenwich restaurant won’t reopen before May.
Plans for Wichita’s second 360 Deli & Grill were announced more than two years ago, but Assaedi said in December that the project kept getting delayed because the partners run several other local businesses that took up their time. Assaedi and Elaya also have 10 360 Tobacco & Vape stores in Wichita.
The three partners previously owned another restaurant, called NAS Kitchen, which operated at 1920 W. 21st St. for about a year, starting in October 2023.
The menu at 360 Deli & Grill includes fresh juices, breakfast items, deli sandwiches prepared with Boar’s Head meats, wraps, salads and Mexican favorites. It became known locally for serving a chopped cheese sandwich — a New York City favorite made by chopping a ground beef patty up with onions and peppers then serving it on a bun topped with melted American cheese, lettuce and tomatoes.
Stay tuned for information about when the 21st Street restaurant will open and when the one at Kellogg and Greenwich will reopen.
