The two-year wait for this north Wichita restaurant is about to end

The owners of Wichita’s 360 Deli & Grill have been planning and promising a second location for more than two years. But, one of the owners says, running their other businesses kept sidetracking them.

Now, they’re almost ready to open that second location at 701 W. 21st St. Faisal Assaedi — who along with partners Naseem Allahabi and Muqnea Elaya opened Wichita’s first 360 Deli & Grill in May 2024 at 11309 E. Kellogg — says that the restaurant will start a soft-opening period next week.

The owners don’t plan to advertise the restaurant’s exact opening date because they want staff members to have time to practice their new jobs before becoming overwhelmed with customers. But if people drive by and the restaurant looks open, that’s because it is, Assaedi said. A grand opening will happen sometime in February.

The new 360 Deli & Grill will have the same menu as the original and will offer fresh juices, breakfast items, deli sandwiches prepared with Boar’s Head meats, wraps, salads and Mexican favorites. It’ll also serve a sandwich that the east-side location has become known for: a chopped cheese, which is a New York City favorite made by chopping a ground beef patty up with onions and peppers then serving it on a bun topped with melted American cheese, lettuce and tomatoes.

The new restaurant’s building, though, is much smaller than the east side’s. It won’t have much room for seating and will operate mostly as a to-go restaurant. The building has a drive-through window, but it won’t be in operation right away, Assaedi said. The owners may decide to use it in the future, though.

The hours for the new 360 Deli & Grill will be 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

Opening the second 360 Deli & Grill took longer than expected, Assaedi said, because the partners run several other local businesses that took up their time. Assaedi and Elaya also have 10 360 Tobacco & Vape stores in Wichita.

The three partners previously owned another restaurant called NAS Kitchen, which operated at 1920 W. 21st St. for about a year, starting in October 2023. The space it vacated is about to be home to another location of the growing doughnut chain SK Donut.

Initially, the owners had plans to open other 360 Deli & Grill locations locally, but for now, those have been scaled back. They’re no longer going to open in the new building owned by Abdul Arif near 21st and Oliver. (Arif now has other plans for the address.)

But they’re not ruling out additional Wichita restaurants.

“Probably in the future, (we’ll do) something else — something new,” Assaedi said. “You never know.”
