Regional doughnut chain is expanding into Wichita, will take over familiar spot
A doughnut shop that also has locations in Haysville, Arkansas City and Park City is about to expand into Wichita.
Local chain SK Donut is taking over the former Knolla’s Pizza space at 7020 W. Central, said Phanna Toeur, one of SK Donut’s owners.
The building has been vacant since Dan Knolla, who had run a pizza restaurant there since 2005, left after his lease ended a year ago. He reopened that Knolla’s in April in a new building at 618 S. Tyler.
Toeur said that the Wichita shop should be open by late October or early November.
SK Donut first opened in 2022 in Arkansas City then expanded in 2023 to 133 N. Main in Haysville. It opened another location in the former Hiro’s Express building at 1542 E. 61st St. North in Park City in February.
The Wichita shop, Toeur said, will have the same menu as the one in Haysville, which offers cake doughnuts, raised doughnuts, twists, bear claws, sausage rolls, croissant sandwiches, kolaches, biscuits and gravy, and boudin rolls. It also has a drink menu that includes hot and iced coffee and cappuccino.
The Wichita shop will have a drive-through window, too, he said.
