Wichita has two new restaurants, both of which should please those in search of tasty beverages.

One opened Monday and will be the latest addition to Wichita’s quickly expanding boba tea scene. Joy Tea at 11414 E. Central celebrated its grand opening from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday with buy-one-get-one-free drinks.

The new shop took over the space on the end cap of a strip center near Central and Greenwich where Church & Burn closed in the fall. It serves not only milk teas and fruit teas but also smoothies and blended teas. Joy Tea also offers shaved ice in flavors like mango, taro, matcha and chocolate.

Its hours are 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily.

Also, Wichita’s newest coffee shop opened on Sunday, and it also serves breakfast and lunch.

Mokas Cafe, which had been under construction since summer, is part of a small regional chain that started in Salina in 2005. There’s also a Mokas in Hays, which opened in 2010. It’s owned by JRI Hospitality, a Salina-based company that has more than 75 restaurants, including franchises of Freddy’s Frozen Custard & Steakburgers, The Original Grande and Chompie’s.

Mokas has a Panera feel and serves not only coffee drinks and smoothies but also breakfast and lunch items. The menu lists lots of sweet coffee drinks, including a Milky Way latte and a toffee cream latte, and there’s also a list of frozen coffee drinks including a Kahlua Mudslide.

Breakfast offerings include sandwiches made on croissant, bagel or biscuit plus biscuits and gravy, a breakfast burrito and various pastries, including cinnamon rolls. For lunch, customers can order sandwiches, wraps and salads, and the chef salad is topped with eye-catching pinwheels of rolled turkey, ham and cheese.

The restaurant, which is right next door to the Advanced Learning Library, offers indoor and outdoor seating and free WiFi.
