This Wichita ice cream shop lost its lease and is now in its final weeks of business
Soon, there will be fewer Flavors in College Hill.
On Tuesday, the owners of Flavors Coffee and Ice Cream Bar, which operates out of an old house two-story in Clifton Square at 3700 E. Douglas, announced that they will close the shop on March 28.
Their lease was terminated, said owner Ryan Nall, and they have to be out in 60 business days.
“To say that we were unprepared for this news is an understatement,” he wrote in the post.
Though they aren’t planning to move the shop to a new space at the moment, Nall said, he has recently purchased a food trailer and will continue the business out of it in a smaller capacity. The Nalls will have the trailer on display at the Exploration Place fundraiser Death by Chocolate on Feb. 29, and they plan to use it after that for corporate and marketing events and light catering.
The shop, which faces Douglas, opened as College Hill Creamery in 2013. Ryan and Stephanie Nall took the place over in 2015, adding their own touches, and they changed the name to Flavors Coffee & Ice Cream Bar last year.
Nall, who serves not only ice cream and coffee but also kombucha and affogato, said he hopes to see the customers he’s met over the years during the next six weeks. He’s enjoyed the cozy space and will miss it.
“We never gave up. We never gave in. We gave it all we have and never quit,” he said. “No regrets.
