June was a busy month for Wichita restaurant openings.

During the past four weeks, the city has added a new burger restaurant, a couple of new food trucks, a few Mexican places and a fine-dining spot for the west side. And that's just to name a few.

July and August also will be busy months for restaurant openings, but can they top June?

Here's a look back at everything that opened this month:

Burger Central, 3302 W. Central, 316-295-3024: Pavan Pandiri, the son-in-law of former Burger Barn owner Bill Powell, opened a new burger restaurant in the same spot where his father-in-law's restaurant once operated. The space was last occupied by Los Compadres and serves a menu of burgers, sandwiches, hot dogs, tacos and salads. It also has ice cream, milk shakes and sundaes. It opened on June 18, and its hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

Rancho Nuevo, 2330 N. Maize Road, 316-295-3292: This new Mexican restaurant opened on June 11 in the spot near 21st and Maize that has recently held Samurai, Las Trojas and Borroco Mexican Grill. It's owned by Jesus and Luz Martinez and serves tacos, burritos, enchiladas and fajitas, which are the specialty. The hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

Roxie's in Riverside, 828 W. 11th Street: Raquel Ramirez opened this new snack and ice cream shop at the corner of 11th and Bitting in Riverside last week. She's serving things like hot dogs, ice cream treats and shaved ice during the week, and she'll break out her big grill to make enchiladas, burgers and more on the weekends. She's still determining her exact hours but for now plans to open from about 9 a.m. until 7 or 8 p.m. Sundays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and until about 9 or 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.

Pedro's Express, 602 N. Tyler Road, 316-613-3024: This new fast-Mexican restaurant opened late last week in the former Charlie's Pizza Taco space and is a smaller version of Lalo's Express at 2051 S. Seneca. It has breakfast burritos, meat burritos, tacos and more, and it has a drive through. Its hours are 7 a.m. to midnight Sundays through Thursdays and from 7 a.m. to 3 a.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

The Sweet Spot, 8448 W. Central, 316-260-4999: George and Julie Yang opened this fine dining restaurant in the former Krispy Kreme and Genghis Grill spot on West Central on June 15. It serves certified Angus steaks, pork and chicken dishes and a selection of seafood items. It has a full bar and a big private dining room. Its hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays for the kitchen, but the bar will stay open until 1 a.m., and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays, when it serves brunch.

Cowboy Chicken, 3130 N. Rock Road, 316-634-1599: This new chicken restaurant is part of a Dallas-based chain that specializes in wood-fired rotisserie chicken, and it opened on June 20. The menu includes chicken dinners, chicken enchiladas, chicken sandwiches, salads and sides like Ranchero beans, tomato cucumber salad, slaw and roasted jalapenos. Its hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.

Fredo's, 301 N. Washington, 316-260-9166: Alfred Abdelmaseh opened this wine and tapas bar in the former Gianni Baccis space in Old Town on June 18. The menu includes sharable items like a charcuterie board, baked brie, a burrata plate and house fries made with three different colors of potato, plus seared tuna and a prime KC strip. It has a patio where customers can smoke cigars and hookah in the evenings. Its hours are 11 a.m. to midnight Mondays through Wednesdays, from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sundays. The kitchen will close at 9 p.m.

Mo's Hut: This new Hawaiian barbecue food trailer had its first outing on June 2. It serves marinated meats like barbecue chicken, chicken katsu, teriyaki beef and barbecue short ribs. Mo's Hut sets up at different spots in town but is planning to be at 445 N. Market every Monday and Wednesday.
