Transfer from Jacksonville (Texas) Junior College was Missouri Valley sixth man of the year as a junior in 2002-03 and made the Valley’s all-bench team both seasons, averaging 12.2 and 8.3 points.

Averaged 9.1 points and nearly five assists during his two-year Wichita State career after transferring from Butler Community College. Made more than 80 percent of his free throws.

Saffordville, Kan.

Years at WSU: 1956-59

Wessel, a hulking and strong center, averaged 11.1 points as a sophomore in 1956-57 and also started the next two seasons. Finished career with 625 points and 432 rebounds.

One of the toughest Shockers, Lang played with passion and an umkempt head of hair. They called him “Wild Bill” and Lang averaged 6.4, 6.7 and 8.3 points during his three seasons. And even more abrasions, to himself and opponents.

Key guard and floor leader on WSU’s 27-4 NIT team in 1953-54 and three-year starter under Ralph Miller. Later became coach of the Shockers from 1964-71, leading the team to its first Final Four in 1965.

Not a big scorer, but a key defensive component on some of Wichita State’s best teams. Wessel had a big game against KU in the 2015 NCAA Tournament and is regarded as one of the scrappiest players of the Gregg Marshall era.

Williams scored 843 points and grabbed 510 rebounds during his career under Randy Smithson, averaging 9.1 points as a senior. Played for Steve Eck at South, where he was an All-Stater.

Three-year starter under Scott Thompson who scored 744 points in his career. One of many college players produced at McPherson. Averaged 8.1 points as a junior. Ranks eighth in Shocker history with 140 three-pointers.

Played at WSU with twin brother, Dwight. Regarded as a defensive specialist but averaged 7.0 and 9.5 points during his junior and senior seasons while shooting 57 percent as a senior.

Years at WSU: 2008-12

Kyles was a force off the bench during most of his time at WSU, scoring 750 points in his career and averaging 9.3 points as a junior in 2010-11. Kyles, an explosive athlete, made 153 three-pointers during his Shocker career which ranks sixth.
