An EagleMed flight landed on its belly and no one was injured
An EagleMed plane has been replaced after a gear-up landing at the Garden City Regional Airport earlier this month.
A pilot and two crew members were on the plane at the time of the Jan. 17 landing. A report from the Federal Aviation Administration said no one was injured.
The aircraft was leaving Garden City to pick up a patient at about 3:45 p.m. EagleMed immediately sent an aircraft from Liberal to pick up the patient instead.
Within a day, a backup replacement aircraft was in service, Jim Gregory, spokesman for EagleMed, told The Eagle.
The medical plane was taking off when an issue suddenly occurred, forcing the emergency landing, Garden City Aviation Director Rachelle Powell told The Garden City Telegram.
Significant damage was caused to the plane from having to land on its belly, she said.
