Farewell reception to honor outgoing Wichita superintendent

The Wichita school district will host a reception honoring outgoing superintendent John Allison next week.

The farewell reception, 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday at North High School, 1427 N. Rochester, is open to employees, business leaders and community members. It will honor Allison’s eight years of service to the Wichita district.

Allison will leave next month to become superintendent of schools in Olathe. Alicia Thompson, currently assistant superintendent of elementary schools, was appointed to replace Allison and will take over the top post July 1.
