A fourth man was charged with first-degree murder Friday in a Dec. 1 double homicide.

Quincy Carter, 25, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of criminal discharge of a firearm and criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Carter is scheduled to appear in court on Dec. 31, though that will likely be postponed.

He is being held in the Sedgwick County Jail on a $500,000 bond.

Betty Ann Holloman, 55, and Brenton Oliver, 24, were gunned down Dec. 1 in the front yard of Holloman’s house in the 2500 block of East Mossman in what police have described as a gang-related shooting.

Police had been looking for Carter in connection with the shootings since Dec. 11, when they released his name and picture.

He was arrested Thursday afternoon at 2550 S. Oliver and booked into jail shortly before 5 p.m.

Lt. James Espinoza credited “good, hard police work” and the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Service in the apprehension of Quincy Carter.

When it comes to “an individual accused of being that violent,” Espinoza said, the U.S. Marshals are willing to help.

“They did a fantastic job,” Espinoza said. “They have the resources to, in this case, select one person – that’s their job, every minute of every hour, to look for that individual. It’s a great partnership we have.”

Jonathan Carter, Brent Carter and Jamion Wimbley have all been arrested and charged in connection with the homicides.

Brent Carter, 24, has been charged with two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of criminal discharge of a firearm and one count of criminal use of a weapon.

Jonathan Carter, 19, who police say is not related to Brent Carter, has been charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of criminal discharge of a firearm and one count of criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.

Jamion Wimbley, 19, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder, one count of criminal discharge of a firearm and one count of criminal possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
