Man arrested in connection with fatal shooting Thursday on South Terrace (+video)
An 18-year-old man has been booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on suspicion of homicide in a fatal shooting Thursday afternoon.
David Ingram, 23, was shot multiple times and killed when he and his 23-year-old girlfriend picked up two men in order to sell them narcotics, police said. The shooting occurred in the 1100 block of South Terrace, near Lincoln and Oliver, at about 4:15 p.m. Ingram was not breathing when he was transported to Wesley Medical Center and was pronounced dead at 4:52 p.m., according to police records.
Two suspects were located in the 7500 block of East Watson and taken into custody and booked early Friday morning. Arrest and jail inmate logs indicate that Emmanuel Crosby is being held without bail on suspicion of first-degree murder in connection with Ingram’s death.
The second person arrested, a 25-year-old man who is thought to have also been in the car, was arrested on an outstanding warrant, according to Lt. Todd Ojile. Ojile said investigators were still conducting interviews connected to the case Friday.
The two suspects are affiliated with a gang, according to Ojile, but the victim was not. Ojile said that police think it was an attempted robbery, not a gang-motivated killing.
This is the 21st homicide in Wichita so far this year, police said.
