Neighbor finds man dead in house days after shooting, Wichita police say
A man who climbed through his neighbor's window found a man who had been dead for several days, Wichita police said.
Police were called to a home in the 3800 block of South Meridian at around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Wichita police Lt. Todd Ojile said Wednesday. A man told police that he hadn't seen his neighbor in several days, so he climbed through a window and found his neighbor on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds.
The man was identified as Trenton Custer, 39, of Wichita.
He was shot and killed after a disturbance sometime Friday night or Saturday morning, Ojile said. Investigators are trying to contact two or three people who lived with Custer.
It is the 14th homicide of the year in Wichita.
