Occupants of SUV, car exchange gunfire in north Wichita, police say
Multiple houses were hit by bullets and one person was injured when people inside two vehicles exchanged gunfire in north Wichita on Tuesday evening, police said.
Police were called to a shooting in the 2800 block of East 24th Street North, near 21st and Hillside, at around 6:15 p.m., Officer Charley Davidson said Wednesday.
Gunfire was exchanged between people inside a small, dark SUV and an older model four-door car, Davidson said. Bullets struck several houses in the area that were occupied by people ranging from 85 years old to 13.
A 54-year-old woman was injured when her shin was hit by debris after a bullet entered her house, Davidson said.
Police do not have a description of the people involved in the shooting.
