Boyfriend arrested in death of 25-year-old woman
A 33-year-old man was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on Sunday evening on suspicion of second-degree murder in the death of his 25-year-old girlfriend, Wichita police said.
Aaron Ray Suiter was arrested in the 800 block of North Litchfield and booked into jail at 6:33 p.m., jail records show.
Lt. Todd Ojile said Bryena Mcquitty was found dead just after 11 a.m. on Sunday. Police are waiting for tests results to determine if she died of blunt force trauma or strangulation, he said.
Ojile said Mcquitty and her boyfriend arrived home early Sunday. Their roommate told police there had been a loud argument between the two. Sometime during that argument, Ojile said, Mcquitty was assaulted.
One neighbor called 911, as did one person in the house, but police don’t know if that person was Suiter or their roommate.
Mcquitty’s death was the fourth police investigated over the weekend.
At 11:45 a.m. Sunday, police received a call from a resident in east Wichita who reported an unfamiliar vehicle that had been parked in the 7800 block of East Pagent. When police arrived, they found a 26-year-old man dead in the vehicle of a gunshot wound.
Late Saturday, a 62-year-old mother and her 23-year-old son were found dead in a house in the 7500 block of East Huntington. They were discovered by a 22-year-old woman who found her two family members dead after she came home from work at 11 p.m. Saturday.
No arrests have been made in those cases. Anyone with information is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111.
