Reno County authorities arrested a 31-year-old man after they found photos of nude girls on his cellphone.

Sheriff’s Capt. Steve Lutz said the cache of explicit images were discovered on Samuel Seck’s phone after deputies called to a home in rural Burton around 8 a.m. Tuesday were told by close friend of Seck’s that he had “been acting very strange ... and seemed to be hiding something.”

The friend told the deputies they had seen several pornographic photos of children on the phone, which Seck recently passcode protected. A search warrant confirmed what the friend saw, Lutz said in the e-mail.

Deputies found Seck at the Offender Registration Office in Hutchinson and interviewed and arrested him. He was booked into the Reno County Jail on suspicion of sexual exploitation of a child. His bond is $25,000.

Seck, a registered sex offender, has a 2012 conviction out of Geary County for attempted sexual exploitation of a child, according to offender records.
