Police looking for man they say is serial burglar, thief

Wichita police are looking for a man they think is connected to a string of crimes dating back to last year.

Timothy W. Kelly, 58, is wanted on eight counts of burglary, seven counts of theft, two counts of aggravated robbery and a count of felony interference with law enforcement.

Police were investigating a string of crimes that occurred from Sept. 3, 2016 to June 26, Wichita police Officer Charley Davidson said Friday. Evidence from 10 separate cases during that time led to a warrant being issued, Davidson said.

Davidson encouraged residents to call 911 or Wichita-Sedgwick County Crime Stoppers at 316-267-2111 if they know where Kelly is.

Davidson said he didn’t know whether those crimes happened in a particular part of the city.

“A lot of times the community is what helps us,” he said.
