Man sought following Hutchinson murder arrested

A suspect wanted in a Hutchinson murder has been arrested, according to police.

Leo L. Wells, 19, was arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder after he turned himself in Sunday afternoon, according to a post on the Hutchinson Police Department’s Facebook page.

According to an online jail log, Wells is being held at the Reno County Correctional Facility on a $350,500 bond.

Officers responded to the report of a shooting shortly before 3:30 a.m. on Saturday and found Kenneth Thompson, 24, lying in the street in the 100 block of South Elm, according to police.

Thompson was taken to Hutchinson Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, police said.
