A man is dead and a woman was being questioned Sunday afternoon following a shooting just west of downtown, according to Wichita police.

Sgt. Joe Kennedy said a 39-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, in the area of Kellogg and Meridian. Kennedy said the shooting appeared to be a domestic disturbance between a boyfriend and girlfriend.

A call about the disturbance came in just after 11:30 a.m. Sunday. A woman was taken to be interviewed by detectives shortly after police arrived, Kennedy said.

The shooting happened inside a vehicle the two people were in, Kennedy said.
